In January 2016, I took part in meetings at the Civic Offices in Portsmouth with members of Portsmouth City Council to provide creative guidance to a project helping young women with personal issues such as self esteem, body image and confidence. I pitched the concept that the girls have fun posing in powerful stances, and design superhero or video game versions of themselves to combat the sexist influence that can be felt by both mediums, and feel empowered by their imagination in hopes that the strength and confidence in the characters they design will translate into their own minds.
